Johnny Young

Johnny is an award-winning country artist with more than 20 albums recorded with several bands. This versatile guitarist turned singer-songwriter, has been on stage since age 6, entertaining audiences throughout North America, and beyond.  After years as a dedicated band member, Johnny struck out on his his own in 2018 with a batch of songs, and a plane ticket bound for Nashville. Hitting the studio with the help and talents of producer Smith Curry, Johnny recorded his debut single “Outlaw”, a song met enthusiastically by country music fans and radio alike.
Johnny has shared the stage with Eli Young Band, Chris Stapleton, Keith Urban, & Pam Tillis (to name a few), has performed at the Winter Olympics, network television shows,, and a multitude of tours and festivals including Watershed, HWY 30, Warped Tour, & Country Crossings.

Extended Bio:
An award-winning, Nashville recording artist, with a contrasting discography spanning over 20 years. This gifted guitarist, and talented singer-songwriter has spent his life immersed in music, entertaining audiences since age 6.
Johnny grew up on a staple of Rock records, and Country radio, and by the time he was in first grade, he was writing his own songs and performing onstage. In his teen years, he started to make a name around the Pacific NW as a gifted, soulful guitarist with a love for country chicken pickin and hard driving rock riffage.
During this time, he would join the ranks of a few different acts, touring hard, warming up for major artists, and putting his stamp on several albums. A couple music for tv deals, and occasional acting gig kept the lights on, while dreams of being in a “signed” band, going out on tour, and hearing his music on the radio were becoming realized.
It was also during this time he had the pleasure of doing some serious fundraising in the name of Susan G Komen Breast Cancer Foundation, United Way, and Red Cross, raising over $1,000,000 along side his bandmates in the teen rock band MindFrame.
A gig offer in 2002 would lead Johnny back to playing country music, taking up guitar duties for Nashville Recording Artist, Amy Clawson. Ultimately producing her radio single “Cowboy Up“, and performing up to 300 shows annually, while handling guitar duties with Portland modern rockers Assisted Living, and occasional tours with punky funksters, HookahStew.
By 2013, Johnny had seen many peers and partners settle down for a sense of “normal life”, but Johnny's gypsy soul said to push on. So he loaded up the van, and headed for Los Angeles to join up with Cold Forty Three to embark on a three month North American tour, followed by the Vans Warped Tour, consecutively. It was also during his LA residency, Johnny would do a little acting, and session work with several artists, including Karling Abbeygate's self titled album, which would earn an LA Music Award for Rockabilly album of the year, and “We've Just Cheated Death” with Cody the Band.
After Warped Tour, CFT took a hiatus, and Johnny then headed North for the redwood hills of Mendocino County, reforming his old band HookahStew to record a new EP, and embark on an anniversary tour. In the spring of 2015, he joined up with Pop Country Artist McKenna Faith, on bass guitar. It was at this time he was asked if he could put together a band for some upcoming shows in the Reno/Tahoe area. 3 weeks later, the Johnny Young Band was born, and on stage playing to enthusiastic audiences throughout the West.
Things took off quick, as Johnny and band soon found themselves sharing the stage with artists such as Tim McGraw, Eric Church, and Chris Stapleton. Filming a music video for their debut single “We Love Whiskey”, and receiving critical acclaim as a band to watch.
In 2018 Johnny released his latest single “Outlaw” to radio, introducing his music to new fans throughout North America, and the UK. Earning critical acclaim, his breakout single also earned him a runner up mention for Country Song Of The Year from the World Music Awards.
As of late, Johnny has released the follow up single “Dont Get Any Countrier“, had the honor of opening for Love & Theft, and Eli Young Band, plus performed at the legendary Nashville Palace, and CMA Festival in Nashville.
Johnny remains as passionate as ever about music, and is currently working on a full length album due to be released in the spring of 2020. Look for new tour date announcements soon.
